We’re ready to continue our mission to meet the needs of students, businesses, and communities through educational and workforce development. Even during this period of uncertainty with COVID-19, we continue to provide learning opportunities in various formats that keep our students, instructors, and staff safe.

We’re ready to provide instruction through in-person or face-to-face classes in areas that expect hands-on-learning. As we did with the Summer Semester, some course work will continue to be taught through hybrid or online methods.

We’re ready to change at a moment’s notice if we need to switch back to all classes online. During the Summer Semester, the college successfully started back with limited labs in program areas like Welding, Nursing, and Cosmetology. Wiregrass Tech continues to follow suggested guidelines to ensure safety and protection for our students and instructors.

We’re ready to provide our students with the resources they need to succeed. For our students with online classes, the college is lending laptops and intel sticks, or students can purchase technology at the bookstore using financial aid funds.

We’re ready to assist our students with more internet connectivity. We’ve added mobile hot spots in parking lots throughout our four campuses and made Wi-Fi connections available inside all buildings.

We’re ready to offer more program choices, including an Occupational Studies Associate Degree, Design and Media Production Technology, and Python’s introduction—a widely renowned scripting language—as part of our computer programming degree.

We’re ready to continue partnerships with colleges and universities in our region, including new articulation agreements with Thomas University and Columbus State University, to provide a pathway for our students to seek higher degrees in their chosen fields.

We’re ready to welcome more out-of-state students by providing in-state tuition to Florida residents for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters. For many students in North Florida, Wiregrass is the closest college to their home, and we welcome them to enroll with us.

We’re ready for another successful academic year, thanks to the generosity of our community partners, who have donated funds to provide students with scholarships and tools and equipment needed for hands-on training.

We’re ready to celebrate a $25,000 donation from Synovus Bank of Valdosta to benefit the Wiregrass SkillsUSA Team, which competes on both state and national levels in SkillsUSA competitions. Students dedicate hours to developing skills for competition against the best-of-the-best from college across the nation. In the past few years, the Wiregrass SkillsUSA Team has received numerous gold, silver, and bronze medals. For the past two years, at the national level, the Wiregrass SkillsUSA Team was the top in awards count and named Chapter Model of Excellence.

We’re ready for an exciting new academic year. Come join us!
