Peach State Summer Theatre (PSST) has been a time-honored summer tradition for over three decades. Recognized as the official Musical Theatre of the State of Georgia, each year, PSST presents three musical productions in a rotating repertory.
The 2023 season, which runs June and July, includes “The SpongeBob Musical,” “Mahala,” and “Monty Python’s Spamalot.”
The SpongeBob Musical
Adapted from the popular and iconic Nickelodeon series, “The SpongeBob Musical” provides a dynamic stage performance as SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, Squidward, and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world. Chaos erupts as lives hang in the balance as the friends bond to save the world.

Mahalia A Gospel Musical
A gospel extravaganza, “Mahalia” features music by various gospel composers, hymns, and spirituals made famous by Mahalia Jackson, who is recognized as one of the world’s greatest gospel singers. Coming from humble beginnings, Jackson was raised in a three-room shanty in New Orleans before bursting onto the gospel stage. A deeply religious woman whose expressive, full-throated voice earned her appearances before presidents and royalty.
**This musical is appropriate for many families with parental discretion.

Monty Python’s SPAMALOT
A similar wacky version of the classic “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” film comedy, “Monty Python’s SPAMALOT” provides the legendary story of King Arthur and Knights of the Round Table.
Considered a “gloriously entertaining story” of King Arthur and the Lady, along with a bevy of showgirls, a few cows, killer rabbits, and other entertaining characters searching for the Holy Grail, as they “always look on the bright side of life.”
